SAML Authentication
Decibel now allows you to enable SAML Authentication (including version 2.0) on your account, providing an additional layer of security for your data.
Enabling SAML Authentication
To enable SAML Authentication, simply navigate to Settings > Security. Under Authentication Providers, select SAML and then tick the SAML Integration Enabled checkbox. From here, you will need to add the relevant settings to enable the integration.
The below options can be configured when enabling the SAML Integration.
- IdP Entity ID - Usually this is the main URL identifying the Identity Provider.
- SSO URL - The Single-Sign-On service URL.
- SLO URL - The Single-Logout service URL.
- IdP x509 Cert - The Identity Provider Certificate.
You will also be presented with the Login URL that can be used to sign into the Decibel portal.
Once configured, click Save.
Using SAML Authentication
To begin using SAML Authentication, you will need to create a Role with a Group name that matches the relevant group name in your SAML account. You can find out more about creating Roles here.
When adding users to the account, you will need to select SAML from the Authentication Provider drop down such as in the image below. The Access for the user will be defined from the Role created. Once done, click Save User.
